23-012 New: Keep Your Information Up to Date Through Symphony Provider Directory

We are changing how you verify your provider directory information

California Health & Wellness Plan (CHWP) participates in the Symphony Provider Directory, a California centralized platform for provider data. Symphony helps simplify the way we collect provider information and attestations. If you are not already a Symphony participant, you have two options to share your information with the Symphony Provider Directory:

  1. Option One: Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) may contract with Symphony for a more automated data exchange and attestation process.
  2. Option two: IPAs, hospitals, ancillaries, and directly contracted practitioners may register with the Availity Provider Data Management (PDM) portal. This portal will allow you to update your information and submit your attestations at no cost.

What happens if I do not share my information with Symphony?

If you do not share your information with the Symphony Provider Directory, it may result in delay of payment, reimbursement, or removal from CHWP’s provider directories.

What do I need to do?

  • For IPAs already working with Symphony, there is no new action required at this time. Your provider data and attestations will now be shared with us via Symphony.
  • For IPAs interested in working directly with Symphony, please contact the Symphony Provider Directory team.
  • For IPAs, hospitals, ancillaries, and directly contracted practitioners interested in using the Availity PDM portal, be on the lookout for an email or fax asking you to verify your provider directory information in the Availity PDM app. The first time you sign in to the Availity PDM app, you will be asked to share your information with Symphony Provider Directory. This a one-time opt-in which means that Symphony can send us your information and updates when you attest every quarter. In the future, Availity will send quarterly reminders that you need to attest to the accuracy of your provider directory information. This will ensure we have your most up-to-date information in our directory for members.

For help with registering for Availity, contact Availity support at (800) 282-4548, Monday-Friday from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time (excluding holidays).

Providers are encouraged to access CHWP’s provider portal for real-time information, including eligibility verification, claims status, prior authorization status, plan summaries, and more.
