Helping Moms Start Smart

We want to help members take care of themselves and their babies from the time they find out they are pregnant through postpartum and newborn periods.

Start Smart for Your Baby® (Start Smart) is a care management program for members who are pregnant. The program can help members have a healthy pregnancy and baby with the following:

  • Find a doctor
  • Set up appointments
  • Find community resources
  • Provide educational resources
  • Nurse and social worker support

Members identified as having a high-risk pregnancy can receive extra help from case management nurses during the pregnancy.

Have members contact Member Services at 1-877-658-0305 to take part in Start Smart.

Providers can help members enroll into the program by submitting a notification of pregnancy (NOP). The NOP can be found at www.cahealthwellness.com/content/dam/centene/cahealthwellness/pdfs/CA-PNOP-1995_12202017.pdf.
