19-279 Pharmacy Network Changing to Advanced Choice Network

Member prescriptions must be sent to an Advanced Choice Network pharmacy as of May 15, 2019

The pharmacy network for California Health & Wellness Plan (CHWP) members is changing to the Advanced Choice pharmacy network as of May 15, 2019. CHWP has let members know about this change.

WHAT THIS MEANS

The Advanced Choice Network is a pharmacy network that does not include Walgreens as a participating pharmacy. Members using Walgreens as of May 15, 2019, will be affected by the change and must transfer their prescriptions to a participating pharmacy.

You can find a list of Advanced Choice participating pharmacies at providersearch.cahealthwellness.com. Click Detailed Search and select Pharmacy under Type of Provider, then click Search.

The change to Advanced Choice does not affect CHWP prescriptions filled through a specialty pharmacy.

ASSISTING MEMBERS

Providers should help members who need to fill new prescriptions or who need help transferring current prescriptions from a Walgreens pharmacy to an Advanced Choice Network pharmacy.  

Members with refills at Walgreens pharmacy can bring their prescription container to an Advanced Choice participating pharmacy for help with the transfer.

Providers are encouraged to access CHWP’s provider portal online at www.CaHealthWellness.com for real-time information, including eligibility verification, claims status, prior authorization status, plan summaries, and more.
