Refer a Member for Dental Care

Date: 12/10/19

Members may not be aware that dental diseases during childhood can lower their quality of life and lead to health concerns, including cardiovascular disease and fertility issues.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance reports that 25% of American children have cavities, making tooth decay one of the most common childhood diseases. Annual visits to the dentist for cleanings and information about proper oral care can reduce the risk of dental disease in younger members.

California Health & Wellness Plan (CHWP) providers can help members stay healthy by discussing the importance of dental care. Providers can refer CHWP members in need to a dental provider at 1-877-658-0305.
